[See update: Editing Photos in IOS 11]
Screen Capture
Screen Capture
There are many occasions when it is convenient to capture what is on a screen and use this image in some way. Often it is only part of the screen you want. Screen capture in IOS is easy, but takes a little practice. Hold the Home button and the screen on/off button (on the 'top' edge) simultaneously. There is a camera shutter sound to indicate that a copy of the screen has been taken.
Go to the Camera or Photo app and see All Photos and your most recent images are at the top. Select the image and you will see the photo editing tools icon (next to trash).Editing and Markup
Easy access to Markup in the editing tools makes capturing and cropping an image a lot more flexible. You can highlight or comment with text on an image and then send it to others, rather than copying a section of text and sending this. See the highlighting of text below.

The Crop tool is the most useful to select a particular part of a screen.
Once an image has been editing, the Action button (upward pointing arrow) reveals a number of ways to send the image - email, message, AirDrop etc.
